Clearing Stipulations & Setting Up ACH

All transactions of a LightReach (LR) energy plan require a small number of administrative items to be cleared in order to achieve NTP (notice to proceed). These items are referred to as stipulations (or stips) and are required on every sale. Stips are designed to:
  • Protect the homeowner by verifying their identity and ability to pay
  • Protect LR and Certified Developers from fraudulent sales
  • Ensure all payment milestones can be completed in a timely fashion

Homeowners will complete the stip clearing process via their account (accessible via web browser or via app download). Homeowner portal link: https://home.palmetto.com/ .

ACH Instant-Link

Recommended method

  • NTP requirement. It is the responsibility of the Certified Installer to ensure execution of this with the homeowner. Therefore, it is recommended to complete ACH at point of sale when possible.
  • Instantly link to the homeowner's bank (most major banks covered)






ACH Manual Link

Alternate option to instant-link.

  • For homeowners without a major bank/instant linking, manual input of bank info + a voided check is required.
  • The information input is secure, and voided checks are deleted after validation for security.
  • For this option, the homeowner will manually key in their bank account information and snap a voided check photo. Visuals below.






ID

The homeowner must complete stripe identification verification

  • NTP (M0) Requirement (Point of sale)
  • Driver's license or other state-issued ID card
  • Passport or passport card
  • Resident permit ID or green card


Title

The homeowner uploads a document affirming that they own the home. They will click on "Title Verification" on their tasklist via the app. The document must show full name and address. Acceptable documents:

  • NTP (M0) Requirement (Point of sale)
  • Original deed or deed of trust
  • The most recent tax property bill
  • Mortgage statement less than 60 days old

For Properties owned in a Trust/LLC:

  • Applicant must be a trustee/controlling member.
  • Trust documents (or other official documentation) must be submitted confirming trustee/controlling member status

A Deeds: Warranty & Quit Claim?

Both types of deeds are acceptable, so long as they reasonably identify the homeowner and installation property in the documents.

LR reserves the right to reject any deed types that fall outside of this scope.

B Cash, Checks, Credit Card accepted? No, cash, checks or Credit Card payments are not supported. ACH is the only payment option at this time, LR may offer to expand payment options in the future. 
C Accepted bank accounts for Stripe Instant-ACH-Linkage?

Most major banks are included in stripe's bank-linking process. Including:

  • Chase
  • Bank of America
  • Citibank
  • Wells Fargo
  • Capital One
  • TD Bank
  • Scotia bank
  • Charles Scwab
  • PNC
  • Navy Federal Credit Union

If the homeowner's institution is not available during the linking process, the homeowner will need to manually complete ACH via their web portal home.palmetto.com.
